Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice Gameplay & Playlist

Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice Gameplay & Playlist

Mack and Gigs entered the very bizarre world of Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice in a recent Youtube live stream and it was a strange and exciting journey. Starting on a mysterious boat ride that was like “It’s a Small World” but with corpses and ending with a confusing maze of portals and glyphs. This game is a fever dream that wants the player to unlock the mysteries held inside. Ultimately, the experience with this new indie game was amazing.

Definitely, don’t miss the crew trying to solve puzzles that almost figure themselves out while swinging violently at enemies that are basically tutorials. Luckily they managed to get through the experience without dying (apparently this game has strict punishments for that). The game seems to focus on the story and mental anguish the heroine is going through, but she’s still a badass that makes us wonder why we haven’t taken up the claymore yet.

Yooka Laylee Spit N’ Polish Update Out Now

Earlier this year the developers behind Yooka Laylee, Playtonic Games, launched an update for the PC version titled “Spit N’ Polish.” This update fixed many peoples issues with the platformer that was inspired by the glory days of Banjo-Kazooie and as of yesterday, the patch has been added to the PS4 and Xbox One editions of the game.

One of the many changes that the indie developer made was a new optional camera that gives the player way more control over where they can position the once fidgety system. This seemed to be one of the main concerns of the Spit N’ Polish update as many reviewers considered the camera to be a major downside to the experience.

In addition to the new camera, the game also makes adjustments to the game’s flying and first person aim controls, the ability to skip cutscenes and dialogue, an option to shorten the iconic “gibberish” voice acting, and tons more that Playtonic detailed on their Spit N’ Polish blog post.

Some of the bigger changes include:

  • Pagies have added signposts to Hivory Towers to help guide players to new worlds
  • Design tweaks to all arcade games
  • Improved speed when scrolling through Totals Menu
  • New moves section added to pause menu, with image guide
  • Restart option added in the pause menu during arcade games and Kartos challenges
  • “Sonar-able” objects now have clearer visual identity
  • Laser move no longer requires player to crouch
  • Improved Transformation controls
  • Minecart control and hitbox improvements
  • Improved Rampo boss fight
  • Performance improvements

Playtonic is still hard at work on the Nintendo Switch version,  set to replace the canceled Wii U version of Yooka Laylee. No release date has been set for their return to Nintendo but Playtonic tweeted a picture of the game running on the new console so hopefully, we’ll see it soon. The developer also detailed that the Switch version would come with the Spit N’ Polish update already implemented.

Last month the company announced they will be holding a closed beta but now gamers have an idea when they can play. Between August 25th and September 3rd, select players will have the chance to give this arcade fighter a try.

Superbiiz - PC Hardware E-Tailer

Registration is now live and gamers have until August 20th to sign up for their chance to try out Dissidia Final Fantasy NT. North and Latin American players can sign up here and other regions can visit this site to register. Unfortunately be prepared for bad news, as with any closed-beta acceptance is going to be limited.

This game looks like it’s going to be an epic adventure. Come take a look at some Dissidia Final Fantasy NT below.

It isn’t the first time Square Enix released a Final Fantasy fighter. For the 20th anniversary in 2008, they released a similar fighting game for PlayStation Portable, Dissidia Final Fantasy. The North American version released back in 2009. This latest title should be an exciting revisit, with new characters and the incredible power of the modern console. Dissidia Final Fantasy NT will be exclusive to the PlayStation 4 with an expected release in 2018.

For those not lucky enough to be chosen for the closed-beta, they’ll have to survive on gameplay footage from the lucky few until its release or an open-beta. However, Gigamax Games does have some Final Fantasy video’s to get you through the year. Be sure to keep checking back for new episodes and the latest gameplay.

Middle Earth: Shadow of War Getting Loot Boxes

Middle Earth: Shadow of War Getting Loot Boxes

Both Warner Brothers and Monolith showed off some new details for their upcoming game Middle Earth: Shadow of War. Surprisingly they’ve revealed that the sequel will have a microtransaction store referred to as the Market. The forum post detailed that players will be able to purchase items such as loot chests, war chests, XP boosts, and bundles. They also clarified that an internet connection is necessary to access this content, which seems to confirm that the boxes will cost real world money. However, cash won’t be the only way to acquire the in-game currency.

The Nemesis System

Monolith went on to justify the inclusion of this often times frowned upon game structure by stating “An important aspect of the Nemesis System now comes in forging, customizing, and leading your own army of unique Orc followers against the fortresses of Mordor.” They continued “There are different ways to do this, including dominating Orcs by exploring the vast open-world and encountering them as part of Orc society, or players can acquire Orcs and other items through the Market (in-game store).” (http://bit.ly/2va9oGD)

Time For Some Rewards

According to the developer, these are the various rewards players can expect upon opening the various loot crates available.

Loot Chests contain Gear (weapons and armor) of varying rarity. Equipping and upgrading these weapons and armor enhance Talion’s character abilities. Loot Chests can also contain XP Boosts that help level up Talion faster.
War Chests provide Orc followers of varying rarity to help forge a strong army. They can also contain Training Orders to level up and customize Orc followers.
XP Boosts are consumables that help level up Talion faster.
Bundles package up Loot Chests, War Chests and Boosts together at a great value.

Monolith also mentioned that there were two ways to earn the in game currency necessary to purchase the micro transactions. The first way they went over was to earn “Mirian” which is attainable by accomplishing various in game activities such as defeating Treasure Orcs, destroying gear, destroying orc followers, and finding it in stashes located throughout the game. The second way detailed was to purchase a separate in game currency called “Gold”, which can be purchased with real cash from the Xbox, Playstation, or Steam store.  The developer also clarified that no content in Shadow of War will be exclusive to the Gold currency and all content is accessible by playing the game.

Overview

No pricing details have been revealed for the micro transactions and probably won’t be available until they appear on the various e-stores. Microtransactions are nothing new to video games and as time moves on more and more developers are embracing the inclusion of using real money to access more content. Shadow of War is hitting consoles on October 10th after a small delay and Gigamax will definitely be playing this highly anticipated  title so be sure to keep checking back for more details!

Dynasty Warriors 9 Coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC

Dynasty Warriors 9 Coming to PS4, Xbox One, and PC

The developer behind Dynasty Warriors 9, Koei Tecmo, announced which platforms will be receiving the upcoming installment of this long running franchise. Everyone assumed the game would appear on PlayStation 4 as usual but the developer confirmed the game would also be playable on Xbox One and PC via Steam.

Dynasty Warriors 9 marks the next main game in the series of high intensity action combat games set in the East. Humongous battles and hack-and-slash combat still lie at the core of the series but this time around the developers are trying something new. A new approach to level design is being taken. Instead of only navigating battlefields, players will be able to travel across a sprawling open world set in China. Fans will get to roam the Great Wall, wander bamboo forests, and climb snowy mountain tops.

Who Doesn’t Like New Stuff?

Also new to the series are a few tweaks to the tried and true combat system so familiar to fans. A new twist to the combo system has been implemented that involves hits adapting to the enemy’s state and polishing them off with an intense finishing blow. Players will also be able to interact with the world around them thanks to a context sensitive action system. Scale mountains with a grappling hook, smash a pot against someone’s head, or ignite an oil barrel and throw it at enemies. These are all options the new system opens up.

A release date has yet to be set for Dynasty Warriors 9 but plenty of games from the studio will precede it. We here at Gigamax are huge fans of the Dynasty Warriors series so we will be sure to keep a close eye on the upcoming installments. Be sure to keep checking back for more information!

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: Update Hit A Snag

PUBG’s Update Hit A Snag

Bluehole had some upsetting news for fans of PUBG as the highly anticipated Public Test Server update was put on hold. According to the developer, “the test server build is not stable enough to roll out.”(http://bit.ly/2u2wodh). The patch they have lined up is a substantial one, including new weapons, skins, and a car horn. Due to complications with a client crash bug, the July monthly update will now be moved to the 3rd of August.

See what’s waiting for players in the next big patch and find a preview of just how big PUBG is becoming.

What You Can Expect

Honk Honk!

One of the additions to the patch which made people lose their minds is the addition of a horn. Drivers can now honk their horns which will default to the left mouse button. Tweet after Tweet, people expressed their approval as though this filled a serious void within the battleground.

The New Boom Stick

Get ready for a new weapon, the Mark 14 Enhanced Battle Rifle. The Mk14 EBR, chambered in 7.62 will accept all sniper attachments and have a selective fire option, too. This means players can either use it to sweep a room or pick off enemies at a distance. It will be exclusive to crates, so expect this new gun to be falling out of the sky August 3rd.

A New Look

Ready for a makeover? PUBG’s monthly update will include its first new face presets and new hairstyles. These will come at a cost and are expected to be priced at 3,000 in-game currency.

Time To Get Hardcore

First-Person Only servers will be one of the most impressive game changing updates that have come to PUBG. Creating a more hardcore shooter experience, players will have the option to choose between standard and first-person only servers. This means looking around corners or over cover will expose a player instead of them having the ability to just move around the camera.

This option will cater to the more hardcore crowd but could also be a nice change of pace for casual players. It will be important to keep in mind the lean buttons (defaulted to Q and E) which will greatly increase a players chance of survival.

The Usual

Bluehole will, of course, be sticking to their regular maintenance with the latest patch. A few UI changes, user experience update, and server stability will be included. For a more detailed look at the subtle changes, take a look at Blueholes official announcement.

PUBG Just Keeps On Growing

PUBG just hit a major milestone. Selling over 6 million copies according to Bluehole and the game also reached a new concurrent peak personal record of 481,291. This substantial growth has put PUBG ahead of Fallout 4 in the Steam charts. Indie games continue to surpass all expectations. With games like PUBG making headlines and breaking records, there’s no telling what the future has in store for indie developers and their artwork.
