Gamers Paradise: Tournaments and Classic Games

Gamers Paradise: Tournaments and Classic Games

There are few better things than video game tournaments and classic games all in the same place. This past weekend had it all. In Long Island, New York at the Cradle of Aviation Museum, both of these great things were mashed together and it couldn’t be better. MT Summit Gaming hosted a Marvel vs. Capcom tournament and the museums’ classic video game exhibit was open to all those who attended.

So Many Classic Games

Countless consoles and arcade cabinets were on display and the best part was, they were free to play. But the excitement didn’t stop there, the Marvel vs. Capcom tournament brought together the best of the best from around the local gaming community to go head to head for the grand prize, a 1TB limited edition gold PlayStation 4.

The Tournaments Keep On Coming

The Gigamax crew was lucky enough to join MT Summit Gaming for their first big event back in August for their Super Smash Bros tournament. A huge crowd of all ages showed up to compete and see who would take the title for the Long Island  Super Smash Bros champ. The winner walked away with a brand new Nintendo Switch and pro controller.

This time around the game was Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite. On opening weekend, the call went out to all local gamers, letting them know they’d have the chance to battle it out with the latest game from this classic franchise. There was some serious competition that showed up, mostly sporting the arcade controllers so you knew things were going to be intense. It was seriously impressive watching these talented gamers brawl.

Why It All Matters

Why is this all so important? The answer is simple, understanding that small gamers can have an enormous impact on a local gaming community is a spectacular realization. Even lone gamers can have an incredible impact on their local gaming community or beyond. Gamers can take an idea running through their head and bring it to the world and that’s an amazing thing. These small independent entities are proof that there is room to grow. Keep on gaming and love what you do.

Local Gamers Take Charge – Are You Ready?

Local Gamers Take Charge – Are You Ready?

The incredible video game industry continues to grow to new heights each day. A lot of this growth is thanks to small gamers like you, taking it uponLocal gamers, small gamers, independent gamers themselves to create communities and share new ideas. One organization that is an excellent example of both these aspects is Mid-Tier Summit Gaming. This small company has set out to create a community of semi-competitive gamers and offers them a place to test their skills in friendly competition.

Background of Mid-Tier Summit

Mid-Tier Summit Gaming is offering something to gamers that they can’t find anywhere else. Building a community focused on semi-competitive gaming, gamers now have events to test their skills against other local gamers.

The semi-competitive idea comes from the fact that these are not toxic environments. Anyone that games, understands that things can get a little overly competitive at times and this is when the harsh words come out.  Gigamax Games was lucky enough to attend the first event they held and it was one of the most peaceful competitive events the crew has ever experienced. Mid-Tier Summit Gaming is currently hosting tournaments in Long Island, New York but there’s no telling how far they can go!

Upcoming Event

The next event is a Marvel vs. Capcom tournament and the first prize is something special, a Gold 1TB slim PlayStation 4 console and a Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite Collector’s Edition for PS4. This is right after they gave away a Nintendo Switch at the Super Smash Bro’s Brawl tournament they held in August. These events may be hosted by a small company but they offer some big prizes and draw in some impressive crowds.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite Playlist

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite Playlist

It’s been 5 years since the release of the last Marvel vs. Capcom game and finally, Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is here. Surrounded by controversy, this Marvel vs. Capcom game has confused many gamers. X-Men aren’t included and the character models have been making headlines because of their odd appearances. Even with these issues, the game still delivers as an exciting fighting game.

Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite, marvel v capcom, gigamax games, youtuber, youtube, gigamax, latest games, new releasesThere have been a few changes to the fighting mechanics, removing the high, medium and low attacks with something a little more streamlined. Combos’ seem easier to pull off and the other than the character models, the graphics and environments are spectacular. The mixed reactions about the quality of the game still don’t outshine the fact that Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite is still a great fighter and welcomed addition to the Marvel vs. Capcom franchise.

Local Gamers Go Head To Head

Recently, Gigamax attended a Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite Tournament hosted by Mid-Tier Summit Gaming in Long Island, New York. It was amazing to see local gamers pull off some professional moves and stun the crowd with action-packed battles. You can learn more about MTS’s latest tournament, here.

You can find the Marvel vs. Capcom playlist below. Even though Gigs and Mack couldn’t get past the wonky character modes, take a look at the gameplay and see if it’s the right game for you! You be the judge and let us know your impression of the game in the comments!

Thank you all so much for taking the time to watch and for visiting GigamaxGames.com. Be sure to check back here for new episodes of Marvel vs. Capcom with Gigamax Games. Even though the crew couldn’t get past the character model issue, the game delivered a worthwhile fighting game experience and absolutely deserves a revisit.
