PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds: Update Hit A Snag

PUBG’s Update Hit A Snag

Bluehole had some upsetting news for fans of PUBG as the highly anticipated Public Test Server update was put on hold. According to the developer, “the test server build is not stable enough to roll out.”(http://bit.ly/2u2wodh). The patch they have lined up is a substantial one, including new weapons, skins, and a car horn. Due to complications with a client crash bug, the July monthly update will now be moved to the 3rd of August.

See what’s waiting for players in the next big patch and find a preview of just how big PUBG is becoming.

What You Can Expect

Honk Honk!

One of the additions to the patch which made people lose their minds is the addition of a horn. Drivers can now honk their horns which will default to the left mouse button. Tweet after Tweet, people expressed their approval as though this filled a serious void within the battleground.

The New Boom Stick

Get ready for a new weapon, the Mark 14 Enhanced Battle Rifle. The Mk14 EBR, chambered in 7.62 will accept all sniper attachments and have a selective fire option, too. This means players can either use it to sweep a room or pick off enemies at a distance. It will be exclusive to crates, so expect this new gun to be falling out of the sky August 3rd.

A New Look

Ready for a makeover? PUBG’s monthly update will include its first new face presets and new hairstyles. These will come at a cost and are expected to be priced at 3,000 in-game currency.

Time To Get Hardcore

First-Person Only servers will be one of the most impressive game changing updates that have come to PUBG. Creating a more hardcore shooter experience, players will have the option to choose between standard and first-person only servers. This means looking around corners or over cover will expose a player instead of them having the ability to just move around the camera.

PUBG, playerunknown battlegrounds, pc gaming, pubg update, gigamax, gigamax games

This option will cater to the more hardcore crowd but could also be a nice change of pace for casual players. It will be important to keep in mind the lean buttons (defaulted to Q and E) which will greatly increase a players chance of survival.

The Usual

Bluehole will, of course, be sticking to their regular maintenance with the latest patch. A few UI changes, user experience update, and server stability will be included. For a more detailed look at the subtle changes, take a look at Blueholes official announcement.

PUBG Just Keeps On Growing

PUBG just hit a major milestone. Selling over 6 million copies according to Bluehole and the game also reached a new concurrent peak personal record of 481,291. This substantial growth has put PUBG ahead of Fallout 4 in the Steam charts. Indie games continue to surpass all expectations. With games like PUBG making headlines and breaking records, there’s no telling what the future has in store for indie developers and their artwork.

Verdun: Let’s Play Page | Gigamax Games

Verdun: Let’s Play Page | Gigamax Games

The independent first-person shooter, Verdun is an excellent and action packed look into the World War I French trenches. Weaponry is more historically accurate than the World War I AAA shooter, Battlefield 1 which has an incredible impact on the overall pace of the action. Bolt action rifles, chunky machine guns and two battle lines separated by no man’s land, Verdun does a fantastic job immersing the player in the action.

World War I – Gritty Trench Warfare

Developed by M2H Game Studio and BlackMill Game, Gigamax Games was excited to see what these developers have to offer. Come take a look as Gigs and Mack try out the multiplayer mode, Frontlines. This game-type involves two teams at each side of no man’s land. One team is tasked with defending their trench as the attacking team charges across no man’s land trying to capture the front line. After the attack is successful, the defending team will need to retreat back to another trench. If the attacking team fails to gain a foothold, they need to retreat back and prepare for a counter attack. This action packed shooter is definitely one to pick up if you’re looking for something a little bit different.

Below you can find the first episode of Verdun by Gigamax Games. From beginning to end, see what a match of Frontline looks like and some of the different classes and factions included. ‘OXENFREE’ Let’s Play – Playlist with Gigamax Games

‘OXENFREE’ Let’s Play – Playlist with Gigamax Games

Oxenfree absolutely deserves a close look for anyone that enjoys an obscure but interesting story. Beautifully designed, this indie game is one to remember. Gigs and Mack take a look to see why Night School Studios creation made so much noise when it was released in January of 2016. Going in completely blind, the crew shows anyone interested in Oxenfree exactly what they can expect.

An aspect of the game that really stood out was the art. Beautiful scenes behind muted colors creates the right atmosphere for this obscure indie game.

The first 30 minutes was mostly just getting the player introduced to the characters. A bunch of kids on a ship to an undisclosed destination was curious enough to keep interest high before the ‘action’ started. Able to pick different dialog choices, the player has some freedom with how their character interacts with the other NPC’s. The story is something that truly stands out in this game, and Gigamax is excited to work their way through and see it to the end.

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare – Playlist with Gigamax

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare – Playlist with Gigamax

Chivalry: Medieval Warfare is definitely not for the weak. Interesting mechanics and precision style combat make it difficult to jump right into. Unless a player swings away wildly in every direction with no regard for the well being of teammates. You can decide which the Gigamax crew is made up of with the video below.

In all honesty, it was a fun game delivering some exhilarating moments followed by questions and laughs. Released in 2012, it’s a relatively old game and was worth the revisit. Anyone looking for a fun, simple game to burn some time and test your skills, Chivalry: Medieval Warfare might be the right pick.

Take a look at the video below as Gigs and Mack take their first look into what the game has to offer. It may not be for everyone and it is a bit old, but it could be a good buy. Thank you all so much for stopping by! Hope you enjoy!

Mass Effect: Andromeda – Beyond The Galaxy

Mass Effect Andromeda brings players to the stars, following an incredible story and an imaginative adventure. This latest iteration of the saga takes place in the unexplored Andromeda galaxy and those who take the leap into the great unknown are sure to find themselves coming back for more. Faced with a lot of backlash focused on glitchy animations, they overshadow the beauty of the game as a whole. Sure there are some wacky glitches and some weird animation issues, but these are few and far between.

The story is immersive and the voice acting is superb. Of course the glitches do take a bit away from the game, but not enough to impact how much it really has to offer.

Be sure to keep an eye out for the Review. It will offer a wider overview of the world and a look at what Gigs and Mack thought about this thrilling game as they make their way through the story. Diablo 3 Patch 2.5.0 Explained in Detail

Diablo 3 Patch 2.5.0 Explained

Diablo 3 just dropped a major update and there are some big changes coming to both console and PC. Those waiting anxiously for the Diablo 3 Patch that includes the Necromancer.. Sorry, this patch isn’t for you. However, there’s still room to be excited as Blizzard pulled the carpet out from underneath the Diablo community.

The Armory Is Here

diablo 3 patch, diablo armory, new update, diablo update

Source: http://bit.ly/2nR9jDE

The first major change will be the Armory feature which was first announced at BlizzCon last year. This new features lets players store up to five different skill and armor builds for each character. This really has the potential to open up the game. Diablo 3 has a unique feature when compared with the previous versions, a character doesn’t have to commit to a skill set. This means players can now seamlessly switch between skill sets and match it with armor sets that will contribute to those skills. It seems minor, but this can really open up the game and entice players to experiment with new builds.

Another exciting addition that’ll clear up some bag space is the change that crafting materials (Arcane Dust or Forgotten Souls) will not fill up your inventory. These items will now be moved to a separate area. Materials that you are already holding will automatically be moved. This will free up some space to gather all the loot your heart desires. A little floating message will pop up above the character’s head which will keep you up to date on how many you have.

Time To Get Serious

diablo 3 patch, diablo 3 update, new update, diablo, gigamax, gigamax games

Source: http://bit.ly/2nBdvtL

Serious players now have a new item to grind for in 2.5.0. Primal Ancients are extremely rare items, guaranteed to have perfect Ancient-level stats and the maximum amount of sockets possible. Primal Ancients will only be available after a player reaches Greater Rift 70 solo with one of the characters on their account. After meeting the prerequisite, any of the items you find will be for the class you’re playing with when it drops. This also means something else for the community. It gives players a reason to grind out and improve their character to run these Rifts solo, rather than just leaching experience and items off of Greater Rifts that are way above their ability.

The updates don’t stop there. Adventure mode is next on the chopping block as they reduced the chance certain tile sets will appear in Greater Rifts. Furthermore, the highest solo Greater Rift completion will now determine which torment levels will be available, instead of Paragon level. Also, Bonus Acts are no longer a part of the game. Completing any Act will net the same rewards as the Bonus Acts.

A fun little addition is the game now allows players to assign Paragon points 100 at a time. All people have to do is hold the Ctrl key on PC.

Seasons On Console

Those on console will be introduced to Seasons. The first will start on March 31st and will be essentially the same as the PC version, where you will start a fresh character who can’t access the bank.

This is a pretty serious Diablo 3 Patch. But, we’re still waiting for that Necromancer class to drop. Be sure to check back on Gigamax Games for the latest coverage of Diablo 3 and more!

Horizon Zero Dawn Record 2.6 Million Copies Sold

Horizon Zero Dawn – Over 2.6 Million Copies Sold

Horizon Zero Dawn made quite a splash when it hit stores on February 28th. The PlayStation 4 exclusive was received well by the community and showed that there’s still some room for originality in open world games. Not only did Horizon Zero Dawn review well (9.3/10 IGN, 9/10 GameSpot, 9.5/10 Polygon), it sold well too. It broke records by selling more than 2.6 million copies within the first two week of release.

Horizon Zero Dawn, gaming, new games, new releases, sony, gigamax, gigamax gamesDeveloped by Guerrilla Games, known for their popular series, Killzone. The sales data for Guerrilla Games latest game, Horizon Zero Dawn include physical copies and online sales.

“We’re thrilled that Horizon Zero Dawn has been embraced by critics and players alike,” Hermen Hulst, managing director of Guerrilla Games said. He continued, “Developing the game was a labor of love, so it’s extremely satisfying to see that it elicits the same passion and enthusiasm from the gaming public that we felt during its development.” http://bit.ly/2m5zh9f

Impressive on Every Level

This game takes the title for best launch of a new Sony-published IP in PlayStation 4 history. Compared with a well-established franchise like Uncharted which topped 2.7 million units sold with Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End in the first week, Horizon Zero Dawn held its own. So even with a loyal fanbase, Uncharted only outsold the new release by 100,000 units.

Hulst did hint that this isn’t going to be the last time we see Aloy. It’s not clear if he was alluding to story DLC for the current game, or if they will be working on a sequel, both would be awesome.

With a host of open world games on the market, Horizon Zero Dawn had the chance to slip through the cracks. However, it defied the odds and truly stood out and the sales numbers are another indicator that Guerrilla Games is onto something with this new IP.
