All the mechanics this game uses makes anyone playing feel like they’re actually trying to survive as an outlaw in the late 1800’s.
This was one of the most highly anticipated games of 2018 and for good reason. The original is still considered to be one of the best games to ever release. Red Dead Redemption 2 blew away the critics but some fans aren’t happy. What do you think about the latest Red Dead Redemption game? Do all those complex mechanics actually take away from the experience? Or is it perfect just the way it is?

The Nintendo Switch is now home to Darkest Dungeon and besides the wacky menu system on the hybrid console, it’s extremely entertaining. This is one of those indie games that keeps on bringing people back. Known for its challenging dungeon crawling elements, the Gigamax crew wasn’t too familiar with the title. A request brought it back to the attention of Gigs and Mack so it was about time to explore the dangerous depths of Darkest Dungeons.
Darkest Dungeon Gameplay on YouTube with Gigamax Games
Caught off guard with the clumsy menu system the game uses for the Nintendo Switch, the intro to Darkest Dungeon was interesting, to say the least. After the crew got those hiccups out of the way, it was time to start slaying. Going in relatively blind, Gigs and Mack limped through a dangerous dungeon. It may not have been pretty but the Gigamax crew got the job done…. kinda.

Hyrule Warriors on Nintendo Switch – Tips & Gameplay
Hyrule Warriors for the Nintendo Switch isn’t available in North America for the Nintendo Switch just yet. However, that didn’t stop the Gigamax crew for going through the interesting process of purchasing the Japanese version. The Nintendo Switch isn’t region locked so it opens up an entirely new world of possibilities for impatient gamers. The playlist below includes a walkthrough of purchasing a game on the Japanese Nintendo eShop and gameplay of Hyrule Warriors for the Nintendo Switch!
Hyrule Warriors on Nintendo Switch YouTube Playlist
There’s something special about seeing franchises like Fire Emblem and Zelda make the move to a ‘Warriors’ game. Dynasty Warriors is a mindless fighter, fun and enjoyable but simple on its own. However, when having the ability to play with classic Zelda characters in Hyrule Warriors, it makes it absolutely incredible. Watching young link take down hordes of enemies, is spectacular. Seeing Link, or any of the many different playable Zelda characters, in a world where the fast-paced action is non-stop is unlike anything the franchise has released in the past.
New In Spirit
Hyrule Warriors may not be a new game, but the Nintendo Switch takes it to an entirely different level. Previously, Hyrule Warriors was released on the 3DS and Wii U but each of those consoles had drawbacks. The graphics were sacrificed on the 3DS and when playing on the Wii U tablet, frame rate and graphics would be severely downgraded. Playing this game on the Nintendo Switch felt like the right fit.

The developers of the indie classic, Journey, are back at it with the spectacular cinematic indie game, ABZU. Creating an exquisite water world, ABZU lets the player live out their underwater fantasies. Swimming with the sea creatures and exploring lost environments deep beneath the waves, the story becomes clear. However the game isn’t so cut and dry, it's an extremely abstract adventure so imaginations will run wild.
Even though the entire game is relatively short, there is so much to discover. From the different sea creatures to all the incredible rock formations and underwater environments, ABZU is amazing. It’s the perfect game to watch or play when wanting to unwind. Stunning and relaxed are the best words to describe the overall theme of the indie game.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Unfortunate Story of Fan Service
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has delivered dozens of hours of excitement so far and there’s still a ton to go. Even with some of the sub-par reviews this game received because of the fan service, it’s still a quality experience. It shouldn’t turn people away if they’re looking for a great, classic feeling JRPG. Both Gigs and Mack are engrossed in the story and gameplay, glued to the Nintendo Switch with no chance of slowing up soon.
The Nintendo Switch has been killing it with games this year. Developers, publishers, and gamers alike are surprised about its success. Even with the reviewers taking off points, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is still a grand experience any JRPG fan can enjoy.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – The Unfortunate Story of Fan Service
Walking through this gigantic game, the Gigamax crew is blown away by the story. Pulling every trope from the book of anime tropes, they somehow feel right at home. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 embraced many more anime elements when compared to the previous series. This kind of art style and narrative direction are right up Gigs and Macks alley.
Again, this game holds true to many of the JRPG elements that make the genre so great but oftentimes also keeps people at bay. There is very little hold handing and it’s relatively text-heavy. If these kind of games are for you, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 might be worth considering.

The Gigamax crew begin their adventure with The Darwin Project thanks to receiving an Alpha key for Steam. Jumping on the brand new Gigamax Gaming PC, Gigs and Mack were ready to see what this new Battle Royale game had to offer. The crew was not disappointed with what they saw.

A New Take On A Beloved Game Mode
A much smaller and confined experience when compared to other Battle Royale games like PUBG or Fortnite, The Darwin Project is something completely new. 7 players to a map, the game is focused on survival rather than conflict. Players are tasked with staying alive in the harsh, frozen environment. Building a fire is a necessity and upgrading your weapons is a must. Periodically, a hexagonal section of the map will turn red and become uninhabitable. Players will need to work around this obstacle and take refuge in the rapidly shrinking map.
There’s no telling when The Darwin Project will be available to the public. The Gigamax crew will be keeping a close eye on this game as the small, Alpha experience lived up to expectations. Even for an Alpha, there were only a few changes we noticed need to be made. The future looks bright for The Darwin Project.
