Street Fighter V is about to get a new version titled Street Fighter V: Champion Edition and fans won’t have to wait long for the game. It is set to release on February 14th, 2020. The latest version will contain all of the DLC that has been previously released, except for the Fighting Chance, Capcom Pro Tour, and brand collaboration costumes. Capcom also has some new content planned for this new edition. Street Fighter V: Champion Edition will be available for $29.99, or current owners of Street Fighter V can buy an upgrade kit, which will be available on PS4 and PC for $24.99.
The game will include all 34 stages and a collection of over 200 costumes that have been steadily added to the game since Street Fighter V launched back in 2016, as well as new V-Skills for every character. This addition will be given to owners of any version of Street Fighter V. Capcom has promised a balance update and new gameplay improvements.
Champion Edition launches with 40 characters adding the antagonist of Street Fighter III, Gill, to the roster. A new character trailer has been released for the character to show off the red-and-blue villain and how he stands up to opponents.
“Typically plotting behind the scenes, he is now ready to reveal himself to the world, as he sets out to fulfill the prophecy that the Secret Society has coveted since ancient times,” Capcom says in the description for the trailer. Fans will be able to grab Gill through the upgrade kit planned for December, and it will include the new Sun Chase Moon stage.
Players that preorder the Champion Edition will unlock a new color scheme for each fighter. Capcom also has some new Christmas themed DLC planned that includes new costumes for Lucia and Poison, and later in the month a new map called Holly Jolly Beatdown will be made available.
