New Pokemon Anime Short Series Will Be Set In Galar Region

A new short Pokemon anime series has been announced, the debut is set for January 2020 and is set in Pokemon Sword/Shield’s Galar region. The series is known as Pokemon: Twilight Wings, and was announced officially on the Pokemon website with promises to explore the lives of people in the British themed region.

Pokemon

Pokemon: Twilight Wings will contain seven episodes, all of which will be about five minutes in length. The first episode will air on the English language Pokemon YouTube channel on January 15th, 2020.

According to the post on the Pokemon website, the series “will show in detail the dreams of Galar’s residents, the realities they face, the challenges they must overcome, and the conflicts they must resolve.” This will also be fans first look at many of the new monsters introduced in Sword/Shield in anime form, although from the sound of it Ash and his friends will not be involved in Pokemon: Twilight Wings.

The series is being created by Studio Colorido, which most recently worked on the critically acclaimed movie Penguin Highway.

Pokemon Sword and Shield was released on November 15th and while it was received well critically, many fans have issues with the direction Gamefreak went. We are excited to see how the Pokemon Company adapts their new region in anime form, but most importantly we can’t wait to see the personalities behind some of our favorite new monsters.
