While the January game releases for the start of 2018 may not be an extensive lineup, most will agree that the first month of this year has some impressive titles. We’re spending most of our time going back and finishing up the long backlog of big releases that came out at the end of 2017, that is until the some of our most anticipated games of the year are released over the next couple weeks. Look below to find the full list of games kicking off 2018 so you know what to spend that hard earned money on!
The Z-Fighters are back with a new fighting game experience that looks like it will finally pull the long-running series out of its video game slump. Players will take control of many iconic characters from throughout Dragon Ball’s history and pummel their friends in a fighting system that seems very similar to Marvel Vs. Capcom. Whether you’re playing as Super Saiyan God Goku or were unlucky enough to get stuck with Krillin, this game is sure to be a blast!
Killing monsters, gathering materials, and forging new armor, these are a few of our favorite things. Plenty of Monster Hunter fans certainly share our sentiment and on this month players will be able to hop into the iconic world again, but this time in 4K. The series is making its debut on current-gen consoles and based on the beta gameplay, Monster Hunter: World will be eating up a lot of our time in the first quarter. Both longtime fans of the series, as well as newcomers, will find something to love in this incredible hunting game so be sure to check it out!
Are you a fan of the Final Fantasy series? Then Dissidia Final Fantasy NT is a game you can’t miss. This fighting game is an ode to the long-running compendium of games. Players take control of leading heroes including Cloud, Titus, and the most recent protagonist Noctis. The gameplay trailers certainly haven’t disappointed and the cinematic trailers are as beautiful as ever. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of playing a Final Fantasy title this is the game for you!
