Shadow of the Tomb Raider is the last part of the Tomb Raider trilogy. The story follows Lara Croft’s life from the beginning of her Tomb Raiding ways. Even though the game looks gorgeous and is exhilarating at parts, Shadow of the Tomb Raider is lacking on that “wow” factor. The game feels a little worn out and a little too similar to the first two. The puzzles are fun but the action has a tendency to die down, leaving the gamer facing a string of slow-paced sections of the story. In a Tomb Raider where Lara Croft is supposed to be at her most fierce, the game includes a little too much hand holding.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider might have some drawbacks but one aspect of the game that can’t be faulted is its graphics. From the very beginning, it becomes clear that this game is going to be a knockout. Its rich jungle environment allows for plenty of incredible encounters and offers stunning natural formations to admire. Each cutscene is memorable, crafted beautifully to leave a powerful impression. Still, with all these visual achievements, the game itself hasn’t impressed the Gigamax Games crew like the first two.
