Bloodstained No Longer Coming To Mac Or Linux

The upcoming side scroller Bloodstained: Ritual of the Night, from the producer of Castlevania, Koji Igarashi, removed their support for Mac and Linux based operating systems. This news follows the developers' cancellation of the PlayStation Vita version, a delay into 2019, and adding resources from the developer behind the Shantae series, WayFoward.

Igarashi Breaks the Bloodstained News

This news was revealed by Igarashi himself on a post made through Kickstarter.

“Bloodstained will no longer be supported on Mac and Linux,” he wrote. “We have made this tough decision due to challenges of supporting middleware and online feature support and making sure we deliver on the rest of the scope for the game. We will be offering backers who planned to play the game on Mac and Linux the option to change the platform of their order.”

The post also included instructions on how backers can switch the platform they selected. Currently, the development team is set to produce versions of Bloodstained for PS4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.

Kickstarter and Fans Made Bloodstained Possible

Bloodstained's journey began with a Kickstarter request that was able to secure over $5 million from 65,000 backers. The game was ranked 16 on the all-time top earners of the donation platform, grossing even more money the Dark Souls board game. Initially the game was supposed to release in March 2017, but delays have set it back to sometime 2019.

Unfortunately, the failure of Kickstarter video game projects to meet their own deadlines has led to a sharp decline in people donating money to projects. Funding fell from $42.5 million in 2015 to $17 million in 2018.

Jump Force Reveals My Hero Academia Character

The developer behind the upcoming anime fighting game, Jump Force, has revealed that Izuku Midoriya, the protagonist of My Hero Academia, will be joining the roster. A recent trailer has shown the hero fighting alongside Asta from the popular series, Black Clover, which you can watch below.

Although My Hero Academia may be a relatively new series, Midoriya has seen a few costume changes as he grows into his role of "best hero." The one Bandai Namco has chosen to show off in the images and videos is called Costume Gamma and was initially worn by Midoriya when he developed his Shoot Style which switched the character's punch centric fighting style to one that leans more on kicking. It's safe to assume that Jump Force will include some of the new moves Midoriya developed at that point in the anime.

As of now, Midoriya is the only character from My Hero Academia to be featured in Jump Force. Other series are included in this anime cornucopia as well. Dragon Ball and One Piece bring upwards of 6 characters from their respective worlds, so there is potential that more My Hero characters could make their debut.

Jump Force, my hero's academia, nintendo switch, anime, anime games, newest video games, jump force update

Jump Force is Shonen Jump's love letter to some of their most popular series. Some of the anime/mangas included in the 3D fighting game are Black Clover, Fist of the North Star, Dragon Ball, Naruto, Hunter x Hunter, My Hero Academia, Ruroni Kenshin, Saint Seiya, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh, Yu Yu Hakusho, and Death Note. The game also features a brand new story that unites the Shonen Jump multiverse against a greater universe ending threat.

Jump Force officially launches on February 15th, 2019 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. We here at Gigamax are interested to see if this game can live up to fan expectations so be sure to check back with us here at GigamaxGames.com for all the latest details!

Fallout 76 – Crash Before NUKE Run

Fallout 76 is receiving more than its share of negative press. Bethesda took a beloved franchise and dramatically changed its foundation. Any move like this is expected to generate a decent amount of controversy, however, Fallout 76 is also undeniably sub-par.

Fallout 76 - Crash Right Before NUKE [Clipped Stream]

The Gigamax Games crew are fans of the game as a whole. They’ve spent hours and hours exploring the larger-than-life in-game world, and when it works, it's incredible. Both Gigs and Mack constantly find themselves pointing out every aspect that makes them love it. Yet, sadly, it is deeply flawed. The clip above is from a recent Gigamax PowerHour stream. After an hour-long run to launch a Nuke, the game crashes.

Even more from Gigamax Games!

Rage follows this unfortunate display of Bethesda’s inability to keep gamers play experiences uninterrupted. There is so much Fallout 76 has to offer but the server instability, plentiful gameplay bugs, and constant hard crashes keep people from investing their time in the beautiful world. Find the full stream, below.

Fallout 76 - NUKE Run CRASH [Full Stream]

Even with all its issues, Gigs and Mack are hopeful that Bethesda will continue to support and improve Fallout 76. Right now, the game might not be what gamers expected, but there’s still a chance. Games like No Man’s Sky prove that a games initial release doesn’t always determine how a title will ultimately turn out.

Gigamax Games will be keeping a close eye on the evolution of Fallout 76. It will be interesting to see how Bethesda bounces back from the embarrassing release. This developer/publisher has an impressive reputation to protect. There’s no telling to what lengths they will go to ensure Fallout 76 turns out the way they intended.

Halo Infinite Brings Back Couch Co-Op

The developers behind the Halo series, 343 Studios recently announced a few more details for Halo Infinite. This will be the sixth entry in the long-running series and based on what was said over the course of the stream, the title is still quite a ways off.

Halo Infinite Brings New Game Engine

Halo Infinite is utilizing a new engine 343 created specifically for the game and it could push back the release date into 2020. Fans can expect a return to four-player split-screen co-op as the developer announced that it was working on the system for the new engine right now. 343 also mentioned that the armor customization feature in Infinite will resemble the one used in Halo Reach. Additionally, players that have reached level 152 in Halo 5: Guardians will receive an additional reward in Halo Infinite when the game is released.

Halo 5 - New Details

Some details about Halo 5 were also revealed during the stream. It was said that 343 did not have many things left to add to the shooter when it comes to armor and emblem customization. It was also implied that post launch development of the title has slowed down as members of the Halo 5 team are moved to the Halo Infinite team.

343 previously mentioned that Infinite will feature Master Chief's coolest design yet. Although, not much else has been revealed as the studio remains tight-lipped on details regarding the game's development. The studio hasn't even decided whether they're reaching for a Mature rating like the previous generation's Halo titles or Teen like Halo 5.

Halo Infinite is currently being developed for the Xbox One and PC and we here at Gigamax can't wait to see what 343 has in store. Be sure to check back with us here at GigamaxGames.com for all the latest details on the title!

Gamers excited to dive into the world of Disney and Square Enix don’t have to wait long.

The trailer below is filled with gameplay and story details that will make any Kingdom Hearts fanatic start shaking with excitement. Its spectacular visuals don’t outshine the direction the developer took when creating one of the most highly anticipated games of the decade.

Kingdom Hearts 3 Final Trailer

Overall the trailer indicates Kingdom Hearts 3 will be the darkest, grittiest Kingdom Hearts to date. It looks as though the series grew up as their original audience became adults.

The excitement doesn’t end with the english version of the Kingdom Hearts 3 Trailer, there is also a Japanese version. It includes the Japanese soundtrack and voice acting. Anyone that wants as much Kingdom Hearts 3 as possible before 2019, the Japanese Kingdom Hearts 3 Trailer is below.

Being the last part of the Kingdom Hearts Trilogy, it will be the end of Sora’s adventure. All the characters that play a vital role in the main story show up in the trailer. Just from the short, three minute and forty-one second trailer is extraordinary and there’s no telling to what lengths the game creators went in order to send Sora off. With over 10 years since the second installment, anything less than an unforgettable, larger-than-life conclusion would be a massive disappointment.

Kingdom Hearts 3 will take place after the latest Kingdom Hearts title, Birth by Sleep. To catch up on the story and get ready for January 29th, the entire playthrough of Birth by Sleep is available below.

Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep Playthrough

Monsters Inc, Frozen, Toy Story, Winnie the Pooh, Pirates of the Caribbean, the list goes on. Disney had years to create new stories and the partnership between this world-renowned multinational media and entertainment conglomerate and prominent developer, Square Enix is ready to bring those tales to life once again. Disney already takes imagination and puts it on the big screen, however, melding these narratives together elevates the entire experience. All the new characters, environments, and adventures are sure to resonate with audiences all over the globe.

Blizzard Cuts Back Heroes of the Storm Development

Things are not looking good for Blizzard's MOBA, Heroes of the Storm, a title that blended together all of the company's games like Overwatch, Diablo, Starcraft, and World of Warcraft. The president of Blizzard, J. Allen Brack, and chief development officer, Ray Gresko, announced today that developers are being pulled from the game and being transferred to different projects within the company.

In a press release that was made public today, Brack and Gresko said that it was a difficult decision to make and it will ultimately impact the future of the game.

“Over the past several years, the work of evaluating our development processes and making hard decisions has led to new games and other products that we’re proud of,” Blizzard said. “We now have more live games and unannounced projects than at any point in the company’s history. We’re also at a point where we need to take some of our talented developers and bring their skills to other projects. As a result, we’ve made the difficult decision to shift some developers from Heroes of the Storm to other teams, and we’re excited to see the passion, knowledge, and experience that they’ll bring to those projects. This isn’t the first time we’ve had to make tough choices like this. Games like Diablo II, World of Warcraft, StarCraft II, Overwatch, and more would not exist had we not made similar decisions in the past.”

This Isn't the End for Heroes of the Storm

The company assured they will continue development of the title, supporting the game with new characters and events, but the time between these updates will increase. According to the two executives, this is to set up Heroes of the Storm for long-term sustainability.

Unfortunately, this news also means that Blizzard had to cancel both of their planned eSports events for Heroes of the Storm. The pro-level tournament, Heroes Global Championship, and the collegiate level contest, Heroes of the Dorm will get the axe.

Tough Call for Blizzard

“[A]fter looking at all of our priorities and options in light of the change with the game, the Heroes Global Championship and Heroes of the Dorm will not return in 2019,” the press release read. “This was another very difficult decision for us to make. The love that the community has for these programs is deeply felt by everyone who works on them, but we ultimately feel this is the right decision versus moving forward in a way that would not meet the standards that players and fans have come to expect.”

It is a shame that this is the beginning of the end for a game that many enjoyed so much. Blizzard is making a responsible move by reallocating employees internally rather than laying people off. The MOBA space has plenty of competition in today's market and it looks like Heroes of the Storm couldn't keep up with games like League of Legends and DOTA. We here at Gigamax will keep a close eye on these deveopments, so be sure to check back here at GigamaxGames.com for all the latest details.

7 Unexpected Game Awards Winners

The Game Awards, Game of the Year 2018 announcement has come and went. Some of the awards handed out were expected, others caught the gaming community by surprise. 2018 brought the world unforgettable video game experiences. With such a spectacular selection to choose from, it’s only natural there were some surprise winners.

Out of the 23 categories, seven awards stood out. People might tune in to The Game Awards to see which game takes home Game of the Year, but there are 22 other categories that hold incredible significance as well.

Below is a list of the seven awards that caught the world by surprise at this years Game Awards.

Best Art Direction

The Game Awards, Game Awards, Game of the Year 2018, The Game Awards 2018, Return of Obra Dinn, Best Art Direction, Best Art Direction Game Awards
Return of Obra Dinn - Best Art Direction 2018

Return of Obra Dinn by 3909 was awarded Best Art Direction at The Game Awards 2018. Facing stiff competition, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, God of War, Octopath Traveler, and Red Dead Redemption 2, it is a miracle this little indie game rose above them all. This puzzle game with its unique black and white sketched art style was able to beat out games that cost millions, even hundreds of millions to develop and produce. This surprising win at The Game Awards 2018 is just a reminder that even small projects can have a massive impact on the video game industry.

Best Performance

Roger Clark as Arthur Morgan in Red Dead Redemption 2 put on a spectacular performance. However, the surprise is the performances Clark was able to outshine. Bryan Dechart as Connor in Detroit: Become Human, Christopher Judge as Kratos in God of War, Melissanthi Mahut as Kassandra in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, and Yuri Lowenthal as Peter Parker in Marvel’s Spider-Man all put on performances that will stay with gamers for years to come. Each one of these talented voice actors had a chance to take home Best Performance at The Game Awards but Clark and his interpretation of Arthur Morgan was given the honor.

Best Action Game

Leaving jaws on the floor, this category winner was unexpected to say the least. Dead Cells by Motion Twin beat out Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Destiny 2, Far Cry 5. And Mega Man 11 for Best Action Game. Dead Cells is an amazing game but this side-scrolling roguelike-metroidvania video game taking home Best Action Game is the embodiment of a surprise win. Its Google card doesn't even categorize the game as an action game and it still won Best Action Game. This isn’t just a surprising win, it must have also been a massive hit for Treyarch, Bungie, and Ubisoft Montreal to lose to such an underdog.

Best Role Playing Game

Monster Hunter: World was awarded Best Role Playing Game of 2018. Up against some stiff competition, this grind-fest of a game rose above all others. Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age, Ni no Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom, Octopath Traveler, Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire just didn’t have what it takes to beat it out Capcoms latest creation. Among the nominees for Best Role Playing Games, Monster Hunter: World is the least obvious RPG. Focused on gearing up by killing giant monsters, the story is usually only a means to open up new monsters to slay. Monster Hunter: World did stand out when compared to previous Monster Hunter titles. It offered gamers the most engrossing and RPG-like story that those that came before it.

Best Family Game

If anyone put money on who would win Best Family Game, this announcement may have cost them. Overcooked 2 took home the prize, beating out games like Mario Tennis Aces, Nintendo Labo, Starlink: Battle for Atlas and most surprisingly Super Mario Party. Gaming is for everybody and the entire the family can get involved. When looking for a video game that everyone can enjoy, Overcooked 2 might be the best choice according to The Game Awards.

Best Sports/Racing

Forza Horizon 4 - Best Sports/Racing Game 2018

Forza Horizon 4 by Playground Games, Turn 10 Studios, and Microsoft Studios scooped up Best Sports/Racing Game at The Game Awards 2018. Not even the massively popular FIFA 19 was able to strip the crown from Forza Horizon 4. The racing game also stood up against massive hits like Mario Tennis Aces, NBA 2K19, and Pro Evolution Soccer 2019.

Game of the Year 2018

The Game Awards, Game Awards, Game of the Year 2018, The Game Awards 2018, God of War, PS4, Game of the Year 2018, God of war Game of the year
God of War - Game of the Year 2018

God of War deserved this award. That opinion still doesn’t make it any less surprising it surpassed Red Dead Redemption 2 or Marvel’s Spider-Man. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Celeste, and Monster Hunter: World were also nominated but these games were clearly going to be overshadowed. God of War was able to leave such an impression on gamers, the community, and the industry that even its early year release in April didn’t hold it back. Red Dead Redemption 2 dropped only weeks before The Game Awards but God of War was still tattooed in the brains of those who first played it over seven months ago.

Every game that was nominated at this years Game Awards deserved recognition. It was especially pleasing to see indie games once again break barriers. The list above isn’t here to say these games didn’t deserve the win, it represents games that were able to break the mold and overtake any “obvious” winners. It goes to show that gamers are an enigma. There is no sure winner when art is judged, especially in the video game industry.

Farming Simulator 19 features a completely overhauled graphics engine that delivers the best graphics the series has ever seen. John Deere has also been added to the game as a new major license. Along with John Deere's precense, gamers will find new locations across America and Europe to start your farming operation, along with a variety of horses to ride around your property.

It is great to see a game find its niche and really succeed in providing fans exactly what they want. Farming Simulator may not be for everyone, but its sales numbers and reviews show the impact of this unique game.
