Assassin’s Creed Origins: DLC Plan Announced

Assassin’s Creed Origins: DLC Plan Announced

It is no secret that Ubisoft loves their DLC. So fans of the series were not surprised to see the company announce a host of Assassin’s Creed Origins post-launch content. The game will have a lengthy life cycle, with two major expansions and a number of smaller updates prepared to be released after the game launches later this month.

The two major DLC packs are named The Hidden Ones and The Curse of the Pharaohs. The first will launch in January of 2018 and will feature a war against the Romans many years after the events of the base game. The second involves the protagonist traveling to a mystical realm where they will find mythical creatures and ancient gods. Players will hunt for the cause of a curse that has brought dead pharaohs back to life, this DLC will launch in March 2018.

The Season Pass Has A lot To Offer

Both of these story expansions are part of the Assassin’s Creed Origins season pass, which currently runs fans $40. This also grants access to two smaller add-ons that contains new clothes and weapons. The season pass also gives the player 500 in-game credits on top of an exclusive weapon.

Assassin's Creed Origins, assassin's creed dlc, new game, latest games, ubisoft, gigamax, gigamax games

Assassin’s Creed Origins is also receiving a Gold Edition and a Steelbook Edition that contain the season pass for the increased cost of the copy. However, not all six of the special editions contain the extra content so be sure to read the descriptions carefully before buying. Aside from the season pass, players will receive a bunch of new updates that include a photo and educational mode, along with a horde mode where players will fight in a gladiator-like arena.

The ambitious and long-awaited open-world title releases on October 27th for the PC, Xbox One, and PS4. Ubisoft obviously has high hopes for the title and it will be cool to see all the new content in action when it releases. We will be sure to have both the game and DLC’s so be sure to check back for more on Assassin’s Creed Origins!

Could ARMS be Getting a New Character?

Could ARMS be Getting a New Character?

Nintendo’s new take on the fighting game genre may see another new character added to the roster soon. In the latest update trailer posted by the video game publisher (see below), fans can catch a glimpse of what appears to be a robot version of the game’s hero, Spring Man.

New Badge System

Also coming with the update is a new “badge” system that will award players for completing specific challenges. For example, one will be awarded for completing a tough run through the campaign or playing a certain amount of fights with one character. Nintendo was not clear about a release date but the trailer made it clear it will be coming later this month. This article will be updated when the launch date is announced, so don’t forget to check back!

arms, new character, new update, nintendo switch, switch, gigamax, gigamax games

Nintendo certainly hasn’t been shy when it comes to releasing free updates for their popular new brawler. The last update saw a new clown type character, Lola Pop, enter the ring along with Max Brawler in the update before her. New stages have also been added throughout the game’s lifecycle, including Sparring Ring and Villa Dolce and shows that the company has no plans to slow down support for the game. Training exercises were also added so that fans could practice their skills and moves for online play, so if you put down ARMS, now is a great time to throw the gloves back on.

This announcement comes in the wake of Nintendo’s plan to increase production of the Switch to 2 million units per month to meet the console’s high demand. The Switch is one of the most unique console’s we’ve ever played here at Gigamax so if you’re able to get your hands on one, don’t miss out! We’ll be keeping our eyes on all the latest information so be sure to keep checking back for all the latest in gaming news.

Friday the 13th Developer Provides DLC Roadmap

Friday the 13th Dev Provides DLC Roadmap

Fans of the very popular Friday the 13th game will be happy to hear that the developer behind the game, Gun Media, has no plans to abandon the project. In fact, to show players that they are still working hard, the team has provided a “DLC Roadmap” in the form of a colorful infographic that seems like it is intentionally drawn like a camp brochure. The indie developer shared this chart on their forums where they also addressed plans for upcoming single-player content.

While the roadmap itself does not share any dates but does show the long-term goals of the developer and a ton of the DLC’s coming to the game. According to the chart, fans can expect new maps, modes, and a lot of new cosmetic options for Jason and the councilors. Other updates include new emotes, Jason types, and councilors. This all comes in the wake of the developer’s teaser video, released in August, that gave vague details of their DLC plans.

The Roadmap:

DLC Roadmap, Fridaythe13th, friday the 13th, jason gameplay, indie games, indie developer, new games, latest games, video games, gigamax, gigamax games

In the forum post, the developers explained their progress for fixing bugs across the various platforms Friday the 13th is available on. Most importantly they laid out plans for getting content onto the Xbox, a process that has been admittedly too slow. According to the developer, this is because of Microsoft’s strict rules and guidelines for updating games.

That’s Not All!

The team also explained that single player was delayed from its previous summer release because they wanted to focus on fixing the core game first. Now that the stability issues have been addressed, the developers are reassigning resources to make sure that this feature gets added as soon as possible, including hiring additional staff. The Roadmap indicates that single-player mode will seemingly be a number of different challenge modes rather than a conventional campaign.

Hopefully, players will start seeing this content soon as the game was relatively bare bones when it first hit consoles. We are big fans of this game over here at Gigamax and are excited to see more DLC come to this exciting indie game. Make sure to keep checking back with Gigamaxgames.com for more on Friday the 13th’s DLC roadmap as information becomes available.

Capcom Reveals New Street Fighter 5 Character

Capcom Reveals New Street Fighter 5 Character

Capcom officially revealed Menat, a brand new DLC fighter for Street Fighter 5. A trailer for the new character was unveiled during the Hong Kong Esports festival which is currently the home for the Capcom Pro Tour. Players will have the chance to get their hands on the fighter on August 29th.

Menat is a female Egyptian character that primarily uses orbs as her weapon of choice. Fans of the series are comparing her to Rose from the Street Fighter Alpha/Zero games. Much like Rose, Menat has the ability to reflect projectiles and can summon her orbs to form a barrier around her using the V-Trigger special.

Menat’s Orbs Are Deadly

While Menat seems like a fairly complex character meant for advanced players, she looks deadly in the hands of veteran fighters. While using the character, players can position orbs around the field to control areas and launch them at opponents as well as call them back. The orbs make extending lengthy combos and juggling a breeze and seems like the perfect way to set up brutal attacks and manage distance.

Menat also has a few other tricks up her sleeve. For one, she can use a powerful divekick to close distance and has a few grab moves at her disposal. She also has access to a teleport in the form of a V-Reversal which means trapping her in a corner will not be an easy task. Capcom has also detailed the various costumes that will be available for the character when she launches.

Menat will cost players $6 or can be gained from the $30 expansion pass for season 2 which also includes Akuma, Kolin, Ed, and Abigail. Capcom also revealed new costumes for a variety of the characters in the game to coincide with Menat’s release. Each of the new costumes will cost players $4 and will celebrate the game’s 30th anniversary.

Next Street Fighter 5 DLC Character Revealed

Next Street Fighter 5 DLC Character Revealed

A new face is about to join the Street Fighter 5 cast of characters and long time fans of the series will certainly be happy with the new addition. Revealed through a brief trailer over the weekend, the popular fighter Abigail from the Final Fight series will be bashing his way into the series. This news should come as no surprise to Street Fighter fans as this is not the first time Capcom borrowed a character from their other popular fighting game collection.

Abigail The Power House

Players of the original Final Fight will remember Abigail as a power house that could take hits and dish out the damage at the cost of speed. This character was part of the Mad Gear Gang in the lore of Final Fight and fans of the game didn’t encounter him until the end of the game. Previously, Capcom had introduced another of the Mad Gear powerhouses, Hugo, into Street Fighter 3: Second Impact. At the time, Hugo was quite literally the largest addition to the Street Fighter series but based on Abigails’ size it seems there’s a new contender for the biggest overall character.

More To Come

Abigail also comes with a collection of costumes that are all very unique. The first features the bruiser in a tank top with some very trendy tires as sweatbands. His battle costume changes his hair to red dreadlocks and replaces his tires with chains. Lastly, his story costume has him wearing a welding mask and an even bigger tire.

This will mark the fourth of six DLC characters that are set for release in Street Fighter 5’s season two collection. Akuma, Kolin, and Ed were all previously released and all came with 3 separate costumes as well. Abigail is set to release on July 25th with his brand new stage Metro City Bar Area. Gigamax Games will be keeping a close eye on Street Fighter 5’s season two so be sure to keep checking back for more details!

Horns of the Reach: The Elder Scrolls Online Update

Horns of the Reach: The Elder Scrolls Online Update

The Elder Scrolls Online may have had a slow start but things picked up, and quickly. This massively multiplayer online game has been brought to new heights and a brand new DLC game pack is almost here, Horns of the Reach.

horns of the reach, eso, dlc, update, gigamax, gigamax games

Horns of the Reach is the latest content from ZeniMax Online Studios and the community couldn’t be happier. Quickly following the massive Morrowind expansion, the Horns of the Reach DLC will be available on all platforms this August. It will be available on the Crown Store and included with an ESO Plus Membership. This DLC will offer players a chance to defend the town of Falkreath and so much more.

New Dungeons

Rumored to have been created by Daedric Prince Hircine, Bloodroot Forge is the first of two new dungeons coming to the Elder Scrolls Online. According to the official ESO website, the forge is rumored to be able to “create weapons of unbelievable power”. It will be the adventurers’ job to battle their way through thick vegetation and lava filled halls to reach the forge and stop Gherig Bullblood’s plans.

The second dungeon making its way to this incredible world is Falkreath Hold. This is a town under siege and it’s the player’s job to fend off the hordes ofhorns of the reach, eso, dlc, update, gigamax, gigamax games Domihaus the Bloody-Horned. As adventurers fight their way through the town, they will arrive Jarl’s Hall where they must rip away the warlord’s hold over Falkreath.

Both of these dungeons will be available on normal and veteran difficulty. They will also include the veteran hard mode for the last boss. Players can expect new loot that includes unique item sets, monster sets, and achievements.

PvP

In what is ESO’s 15th update they will be including new PVP content as well. Additional content will be added to the 4x4x4 game mode along with a new map, Arcane University. This new map is set in a college in the Imperial city. Players won’t need the Imperial City update to play the Arcane University.

horns of the reach, eso, dlc, update, gigamax, gigamax games

The DLC includes a new battlegrounds game mode called, Chaosball. Fast-paced and grueling this new game mode sounds like it will be an interesting addition to ESO’s PvP portfolio. Players on each of the two teams will be tasked with trying to grab the ball before the other team has a chance. The longer a player can hold onto the ball, the more points they will generate for their team. The ball also comes with a health and armor debuffs while simultaneously causing damage to the player holding the ball and their entire party. Unfortunately for some, this battleground and game type will only be available for those who own the Morrowind expansion.

Quality-Of-Life Improvements

Along with all of the additional content explained above, the developers are adding a few quality of life improvements. A system to better keep track of which attacks are yours, the option to cancel research mid-way and banks will now accept Writ vouchers and alliance points are just some of the most noteworthy. Usual bug fixes will also be included in the Horns of the Reach.

It looks as though ESO might have done it again, but fans will have to wait until August to see for sure. Be sure to check back on GigamaxGames.com to stay up to date with the latest announcements as more details become available. Also, you can expect to see even more ESO videos from the Gigamax Crew on the upcoming DLC.

Destiny 2 – How Bungie Plans To Improve

Destiny 2 – How Bungie Plans To Improve

Destiny 2 is nearly here and Activision shared some thoughts on how they plan to improve on the game’s design. The  original Destiny has been an insanely popular shooter ever since it dropped on the PlayStation 4 in 2014. The great graphics and exciting gameplay were able to keep players interested for a while but the community thrived on new DLC and post-release content. Slow to release and sometimes a let down, the community wanted more from these costly expansions and Destiny 2 is expected to address these issues.

Destiny 2, new games, DLC, activision, bungie, gigamax, gigamax games

Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg shared some important thoughts with GI.biz, and it could point to more frequent and higher quality post-release content for Destiny 2. “I have not been happy with the cadence [of new content].” Hirshberg said. He continues on to explain “We got a lot right with Destiny 1, but one of the things we didn’t do was keep up with the demand for new content. I feel like that, as great as [DLC packs] The Dark Below. House of Wolves, The Taken King, and Rise of Iron all are, clearly there was appetite for more.” http://bit.ly/2uHGRqi

Teamwork Makes The Dream Work

They aren’t just going to set big goals without any planning. Activision created a team of different studios to work alongside Bungie to produce higher quality and more plentiful content. High Moon, developers of the previous-gen versions of Advanced Warfare and Vicarious Visions which has up until now been exclusively working on the Skylanders series will be included on the new Destiny 2 post-release content team. Both of these developers are experienced and High Moon already has experience working with Bunie with the original Destiny.

Destiny 2, new games, DLC, activision, bungie, gigamax, gigamax games

It would be nice to see more quality and expansive DLC’s for Destiny 2 after release. What would be even better is if Destiny 2 comes with a healthy amount of content on its own. We’re in a new era of gaming where DLCs drive the success of nearly any game forward. However, it is nice to see a developer strive to make these industry standard game additions worthwhile for the gamers.

With more information coming out about Destiny 2 almost every day, be sure to check back on Gigamax for the latest gaming updates.

Data Miners Find Aliens in Grand Theft Auto 5

Data Miners Find Aliens in Grand Theft Auto 5

After many years of fans digging through code and searching every single inch of Grand Theft Auto 5, one group has finally found the elusive green extra terrestrials. Staying true to the nature of the series, this discovery involves some malicious deeds.

Last month saw the release of the latest Grand Theft Auto 5 multiplayer update, Gunrunning. Along with the patch came a few new weapons, a couple vehicles, and giant underground bunkers. But a dedicated group of data miners wasn’t satisfied, they needed to look deeper. That’s where a file was discovered that hinted of an alien UFO crashing just outside of the military base, Zancudo. This discovery drove players to finally figure out the long standing mystery of the alien egg.

GTA 5 Modding and mystery hunting group, Team Guru, spent weeks figuring out how to activate the various pieces of Alien code they found in the game. After many long hours of coding the team was able to use a tool created by the Guru member Polivilas to switch in game variables until they forcibly opened an alien supply mission with brute force.

You can see a quick video of the mission below:

As you can see, the mission isn’t the most exciting in the world. It involves players heading to a predesignated zone to gather supplies, and that’s where the mysterious alien egg comes in. When the group arrives, they find a crashed UFO surrounded by the bodies of dead soldiers and scientists. Players are then tasked with stealing the alien egg from the crash site and escort it to a safe zone. Aliens will spawn after the egg is grabbed and the crew will need to gun down their assailants. A fairly standard mission, but the sense that a long journey is finally over satisfies more than anything else.

Many are happy with this information but some can’t help but feel a little cheated. While it doesn’t really justify years of searching, most fans are hopeful that this is just the beginning of aliens in GTA 5. Could we see a big space update in the future? MAYBE! Gigamax will be sure to have the coverage so make sure to keep checking back.

The Master Trials: Breath of the Wild DLC Out Now

The Master Trials: Breath of the Wild DLC Out Now

Are you itching to jump back into Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild? Well a perfect opportunity just presented itself, with the release of the game’s first DLC pack, The Master Trials. The DLC pack can be purchased on the Switch’s EShop right now for $20 in the season pass bundle. Currently there is no way to purchase The Master Trials by itself but hopefully Nintendo will split the two DLC’s in the future. The pack is 456 MB and is available for both the Switch and Wii U versions of the game with the latter coming in at 3.7 GB.

It’s Time For A Challenge

At the forefront of the DLC is a tougher difficulty mode that adds its own save slots so players don’t have to wipe their precious save files. The Master Trials also adds 5 new outfits into the game for fans to wear while adventuring through Hyrule. Included in these handy pieces of clothes are the Korok Mask, Majora’s Mask, Midna’s Helmet, Tingle’s Outfit, and the phantom armor. Players can get this armor by finding the 8 treasure chest that “mysteriously” appear throughout the open world. Also included in the DLC is a Travel Medallion item that lets players set a warp point to teleport back to whenever they so choose. The new content also tracks a path of your journey for those that are curious or lost.

Another huge addition in The Master Trials is the addition of a 45 room challenge dungeon known as The Trial of the Sword. Much like The Cave of Ordeals from previous Zelda entries, players are tasked with clearing floor after floor of monsters that increases with difficulty on every level. Trial takers begin the ordeal naked and unarmed and need to fight their way to the bottom with only the weapons and armor made available during the challenge. When a player completes the challenge they will unlock a version of the master sword that is fully powered up.

More To Come

The Master Trials DLC is the first of two expansion packs that Nintendo announced for Breath of the Wild. The second upcoming expansion is named ‘The Champions Ballad’, expected to release this holiday season. Players can expect a new story chapter in The Champions Ballad centered around the four champions from Link’s era Daruk, Mipha, Revali, and Urbosa. Nintendo gave a brief glimpse into the second DLC pack at E3 2017 which you can see below. We are pumped to have a new reason to revisit Breath of the Wild and will keep a close on eye on any updates Nintendo offers for the second DLC, so be sure to keep check back with gigamaxgames.com.
